NAME: Charles Middleton
SQUAD NUMBER: 7
ROLE: The classic all-rounder with a solid right arm medium technique on the bowling front and an infallible cover drive at the crease. His current spate of poor form has been attributed to his recent lack of focus on his backyard cricket career and will be relying on his wealth of experience in the Oxshott village cricket team where he enjoyed an excellent opening partnership with Tom Fairbairn over the years.
DEEF EXPERIENCE: Similar to his Kiwi partner Harris, Middleton has been missed on the deef circuit in recent years yet hopes that his 20/20 experience in the U13 B's will tide him over in the tournament.
THOUGHTS ON THE TOURNAMENT: "After all these years away from the sport I was ecstatic to get the call up from my Māori homeland and I am really relishing the opportunity. I think its safe to say that me and Harris are the firm underdogs in the tournament with a brutal opening match against Pakistan, but I really hope we can come through as the black horse of the competition."
