NAME: Sacha Andraos
SQUAD NUMBER: 69
ROLE: Not your standard off-spin bowler, Sacha Andraos, known for his reverse sweep and startling forward drive is best known for his efforts in the 2004 Sheen Colts squad where he was awarded outstanding contribution to the team. Although never confirmed it has been said he once bowled a ball which carried both leg and off-spin and shocked spectators as it seemed to side-step the batsman on each bounce. He is also very accurate at finding middle stump when batting and rarely has to ask the umpire.
DEEF EXPERIENCE: Despite having been out of deef cricket for a while now due to a pelvis injury, he has been training religiously and should be fighting fit for the Deef tournament.
THOUGHTS ON THE TOURNAMENT: “Truly honoured to get the call up for the South African squad, I went on holiday there once so they must have seen something they liked. Having been given the opportunity to open the event by the officials is truly heart-warming and me and my team will strive to make it a corker! I think every team is in for a running except for Canada so it should be a fun days cricket. And even if we don’t take home the cup I’m sure we’ll have fun and that’s really the reason I got into Deef in the first place so let the best team win. And like I always say, If you can’t do the deef, don’t be a queef”
